B.O.A.T.S. (album 2009)

Miro’s second solo album B.O.A.T.S. (Based on a True Story), has a general ‘Americana’ flavour. It is simultaneously sombre and uplifting in tone. PAUL MIRO'S SINOMBRÉ

Wildly ambitious and epic in scope, the four-album Sinombré saga is a colossal achievement. The huge, dystopian, cinematic saga features an incredible collection of songs, stories and musical segue. A dark, bluesy swamp atmosphere runs throughout the journey, underneath Paul’s emotive vocals. Each album works as a standalone, but listening to all four albums back to back is highly recommended. A fifth chapter in the sequence is currently in development.

Vol I: All Hope Is Gone (2016)

The album begins with the unsettling ‘Nothing Left Here’, delivering the underlying message of ‘end’, which resonates on multiple levels. Yet, despite the dystopian themes, the Sinombré message arrives in an irresistibly enticing wrapper, featuring the darkest of lyrics alongside nod-along rhythms and hypnotic melodies. Sinombré includes several ‘mood’ pieces, such as ‘Wilderness’ and ‘Travelogue’, which progress the narrative while also making sense in the context of the stunning artwork that accompanies the first chapter. Overall, Sinombré offers an immersive sensory experience.

TRACK LISTING

  1. Nothing Left Here (Part I)
  2. End of Days
  3. All Hope is Gone
  4. Suddenly Righteous
  5. Wilderness
  6. Nest of Vipers

  9. Night Fall
  10. Find the Beast

  12. Fall From Grace
  13. Swimming in the Dowling Pool
  14. The Only Devil
  15. Sun's Gonna Shine
  16. Nothing Left Here (Part Il)

Volume II: Broken Angels (album 2018)

Opening in a rockier vein with the third part of Nothing Left Here, the second album in the sequence continues the musical journey, blending desolation, timeless anthems, and unnerving interludes. From warped Americana to achingly sad and beautiful, the album resembles a symphonic poem, filled with soaring vocals and exhilarating moments that lead one to contemplate that perhaps there is hope—something worth fighting for.

TRACK LISTING

  1. Nothing Left Here (Part III)
  2. The Big Blowdown
  3. Light Of The World
  4. Build My Gallows High

  15. Nothing Left Here (Part IV)

Vol III: Freedom Machine (album 2019)

The opening track of Vol III presents an optimistic, blues-style delivery. However, like its two predecessors, Freedom Machine seamlessly intertwines a bewildering array of moods and styles. From raw rock to soothing, sensitive tones, and from Americana and country to Midwestern influences, it encompasses haunting, essential interludes and cinematic textures. Filled with political vitriol and lyrics that provoke reflection on our current chaotic times, this is yet another remarkable collection of songs.

  1. Nothing Left Here Pt V
  2. Dereliction
  3. Freedom Machine

Vol IV: Mortal Babies (album 2020)

What is remarkable about the Sinombré saga is the fusion not only of styles but also of concepts under an umbrella that sways to a hundred beats and yet somehow makes perfect sense. The fourth chapter is no exception, opening with a joyful 1940s-style big band rendition of "Nothing Left Here", demonstrating that there are happy moments amid the darkness and fear. The diverse sonic landscape seamlessly blends throughout with Miro’s unmistakable vocals and rich vocal harmonies, leading right up to the final message from the last bunker of lost hope… now dust and bones. Perhaps the most significant words uttered are that ultimately there is ‘Nothing Left Here’.
